GENERAL INFORMATION

Bookings and gift vouchers

You can book your class or treatment and buy gift vouchers by calling or sending a WhatsApp message at +41 77 494 40 40, sending an email to muditalocarno@gmail.com or using the button BOOK NOW at the top of the website.

Late arrivals and cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment please let the studio know at least 24 hours in advance. If the appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance or in case of no show we reserve the right to charge for the full price of the appointment.

To existing clients in good standing, they will get a 1 free-no questions asked "emergency cancellation" per year. After that, the cancellation policy will apply. 

To respect the time of other clients scheduled on that day and the therapist's resting time the treatment or class will not be extended past the reserved time slot. We recommend getting to the studio 5 minutes before your appointment time to start the treatment or class on time. Please try not to arrive to your appointment too early as it might affect the time allocated to the previous client and the resting time of the therapist.

Payment methods

You can pay for your treatment, class or gift voucher in cash or with Twint. The payment will be done at the end of the treatment. In exceptional cases the payment will be asked before the appointment (in case of having cancelled or no showed for a previous appointment). If you need a bill let the studio know and will provide you with one.

Gift vouchers

 

If you would like to buy a gift voucher for your partner, friends or family members, please do get in touch by call, Whatsapp or email telling us the treatment, class or time you would like to gift and the name of the person who will receive the gift voucher. We will answer you as soon as possible. You can pick up your gift voucher at the studio or we can send it by email to print it or send it directly to the receiver.

We are thrilled to offer classes and treatments to every person of any age, gender, sexual identity, race, religion and sexual orientation. We follow an ethos of respect, non-judgement and acceptance. Everybody is welcome!

Policy of mutual respect and privacy

 

The session will be conducted from both parties with total respect to the privacy, modesty and physical and moral integrity of the client and therapist. 

 

We reserve the right to stop or not start a session in this cases: medical contraindications, bad hygiene, disrespectful behavior. The session may also be ended by either the client or the therapist at any time, for any reason, to ensure both parties are safe and comfortable.

Any inappropriate behavior, requests for inappropriate services, or sexual advances will not be tolerated and will result in immediate termination of the session and refusal of future services. 

All the information regarding your sessions will be kept in absolute confidentiality. 

Products used, allergies and medical contraindications

Although the studio is always well ventilated, we regularly use incense and essential oils to offer a clean warm welcoming aroma. For the massage treatments we use a variety of organic natural oils (coconut, almond, sesame and mustard seed oils) and a variety of essential oils. For the Ayurvedic massage we use different Ayurvedic oils which contain herbs and spices, and natural calamus root powder. The Ayurvedic herball bags pindas contain also natural herbs and spices. If you have any allergy or medical condition that we should be aware of before your class or treatment please let us know in advance.

 

The massage treatments at Mudita Studio are designed for comfort and relaxation only are not medical in its nature nor the therapist Clara is qualified to give any medical advise. When necessary I will suggest or refer you to another professional who is able to help you better with your specific complaints (podiatrist, physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractic, doctor, psychotherapist or any other complimentary therapist).

What happens in a treatment?

At Studio Mudita we take care of all the details to make sure the environment for your massage is deeply relaxing and comfortable. Upon arrival you will be offered a fresh lavette (or warm lavette in the colder months) and some fruit-infused water. The treatment room will be warm (or cool in the summer months) and peaceful with careful consideration given to the lighting, soft music (which you can choose from our Music Playlists) and essential oils diffused to add to the experience. 

On the first visit clients will be asked a number of questions concerning general well-being, injuries and medical conditions that the therapist should know about, in order to determine if there are any contra-indications (physical conditions that would prohibit or limit a massage treatment).

Before starting any treatment the therapist will ask you what is your goal to achieve with the treatment (relaxation, reducing muscular tension or pain, etc) and any relevant medical information (allergies, pain, injuries, medical condition). Feel free to communicate the areas where you would like the therapist to focus more time and also any areas you would not like to be treated, the pressure you would like the therapist to use in the treatment and any other need or consideration for your session. Feel free to change any of your requirements during the treatment to make sure you are always comfortable, therapists love receiving feedback! 

After choosing your music for the treatment and your choice of oil the therapist will leave the room so you can undress to your level of comfort. Your modesty and respect will always be kept throughout the treatment. The massage table and futon can be heated and bolsters and pillows can be used to ensure you lie down comfortably for the treatment. Hot towels will be applied to your feet and back during the treatment for deep relaxation.

The therapist will ask throughout the treatment for your comfort and if the level of pressure suits your needs. At any time you can indicate the therapist to change the pressure or technique being used or any other indication or question regarding your treatment.

 

At the end of the session the therapist will leave a few minutes to allow for answering any questions, giving some recommendations to lengthen the therapeutic effect of the treatment or advise you other therapies, methods or exercises that could be beneficial to you. Then the therapist will step out of the room to let you dress and will wait for you outside ensuring you can take the time to do so without any stress.

We recommend to keep well hydrated after the massage treatment and not rush off immediately after to maximize the relaxing effects of the treatment.

 

A glass of fruit-infused water will be offered and the therapist will proceed to take the payment for the treatment. Payment by cash and TWINT are welcome. Invoices can be requested.
